EVA Air chooses Clay Sun to serve as President

Mr Clay Sun brings deep experience in both passenger and air cargo services to the office.

TAIPEI, TAIWAN – EVA Airways Corporation has promoted Passenger Management Division Executive Vice President Clay Sun to president, effective upon retirement of current President Dereck Chen on January 1, 2018. The EVA Board of Directors announced the selection after their November 10, 2017 meeting.

Sun began his Evergreen Group career in 1986 and started with EVA in 1991, the year the airline launched its maiden flight. He brings deep experience in both passenger and air cargo services to the office.

The 54-year-old executive’s first Evergreen Group assignment was at Evergreen Marine Corporation in business and corporate planning.

After he transferred to EVA, he developed his air transport capabilities through a variety of roles with steadily increasing responsibilities in personnel, corporate planning, cargo management and passenger management. At the same time, he gained global expertise and insights in the highly competitive international aviation industry with posts to these EVA departments in the United States, Europe and Mainland China. Sun and his family live in Taipei, Taiwan.
