Asiana Airlines: Considerable expansion of cooperation with Aviareps

Asiana Airlines has moved into a further five European markets through cooperation with Aviareps: Austria, Switzerland, Benelux, the Czech Republic and Hungary. Before now, the global representation company was already contracted as Passenger General Sales Agent for France. The renowned Korean carrier offers connections from three European cities to Korea: each week, Asiana Airlines flies six times from Frankfurt (Germany), four times from London (UK) and three times from Paris (France) to the Korean capital Seoul.

With this expanded contract, Aviareps is intensifying its relationship with a very promising client: Asiana Airlines has recently been crowned ‘2009 Airline of the Year’ by Air Transport World (ATW), the prestigious and renowned air transport magazine. Asiana Airlines’ excellent safety record, service and financial management in particular were crucial factors in its nomination and the company is now justifiably acknowledged as the world’s best.

Moreover, Korea as a tourism destination has also experienced very positive growth: while South Koreans tend to chose domestic destinations for their holidays, more and more international tourists are visiting South Korea. During the first half of 2008, the number of foreign tourists to the country grew by more than nine per cent compared to the previous year. While the country is more frequented as a stopover destination at present, it is on track for becoming an economic intersection in itself – for instance by playing host to the globally-renowned international EXPO 2012 in Yeosu.

“Our close partnership with Aviareps on the French market has proven to be very advantageous for us. We have no doubt that Aviareps will effectively communicate the excellent services of our airline further – including to potential customers on these new European markets,” states Mr. Dong Joon Park, Regional Manager of Asiana Airlines based in Frankfurt (Germany).

“Asiana Airlines’ considerable expansion of their agreement with us is a great honour. We will apply the experience we already have of marketing the services of Asiana Airlines in France. Together with the individual expertise of our employees in the respective territories, this will undoubtedly be an effective combination. We are very much looking forward to the first results of our operations on these new markets,” says Oliver Kuechler, Aviareps’ Chief Operation Officer Aviation.
