Agoda gets chic with hip hotel rates for Fashion Week

Agoda - Fashion WeekAgoda, Asia’s global hotel booking site and part of Nasdaq-listed Pricelince.com, released some hot hotel rates for September, just in time for Fashion Week in the world’s most fashion-forward cities.

The first of the “big four” Spring/Summer 2011 collections begins in New York with Mercedes Benz (MB) Fashion Week, happening from September 9-16. Famously, MB Fashion Week has always been held in the center of New York’s garment district at Bryant Park. This year, however, the S/S 2011 shows will take place at the Lincoln Center of Performing Arts on New York’s Upper West side.

The New York runway schedule showcases upcoming ready-to-wear lines from prominent US designers, many of them born and bred in New York. Highlights for the season include shows for Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, DKNY, Michael Kors, L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani, and the dependably upbeat and unconventional Betsey Johnson show.

The always-fashionable London gets super stylish from September 17-22 this year as the S/S 2011 Collections take place at Somerset House. British design empires like Mulberry, Paul Smith, and Burberry Prorsum will unveil their forecasts for the next season, as will popular high street brand, Topman.

“Fashion Fringe at Covent Garden” culminates in a final runway show at London Fashion Week. This initiative was created to uncover bold new British designers in the tradition of Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen. Three finalists will show during London Fashion Week, with the winner decided upon by John Galliano.

The fashion capital of Italy, Milan, celebrates fashion for almost the entire month of September, with events planned from September 8-30. The Spring/Summer 2011 Collections show from September 22-28 in the Centro Sfilate on via Gattamelata in Milan city center.

The most important events of the month are the women’s pret-a-porter collections attended by fashion heavyweights like Vogue editor Anna Wintour, as well as fashion buyers and the international press. Italian designers who show during this time include some of the world’s most renowned – Emporio Armani, Gucci, Versace, Fendi, Dolce&Gabbana, Prada, and Emilio Pucci.

Paris is the last of the “big four” fashion weeks, the pret-a-porter shows taking place this year from September 28-October 7 in venues across the city. The Chanel show is always a highlight – staged at the Grand Palais every year it’s a large-scale production with elaborate and expensive decor. Other iconic venues include Le Petit Palais, Le Jardin des Tuileries, and Le Carrousel du Louvre.

Around a hundred designers show during this time, including the biggest names in fashion: Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Valentino, Dior, Lacroix, and Yves Saint Laurent. The daily schedule includes up to ten shows, the higher-profile collections featuring celebrities both on the runway and in the front row.

Fashion Week is a notoriously difficult time to find accommodation, but Agoda has managed to secure the following rates at some of the world’s hippest hotels in the world’s style capitals.
