Georgie Walsh takes helm as CEO of Meeting Point Asia

Georgie Walsh assumes CEO role at Meeting Point Asia, bringing over 15 years of hospitality and travel expertise to enhance the Bangkok-based agency’s operational strategies.

MUNICH – Baton handover in Bangkok: As the important end-of-year travel season gets underway, Georgie Walsh starts as the new CEO of the incoming agency Meeting Point Asia. The seasoned industry expert takes over from Stephan Volders, who will additionally to his assignment as Global Lead Commercial of Meeting Point International fill in the role as Head of Commercial at Meeting Point Spain.

With more than 15 years of experience in hospitality and travel, and outstanding knowledge of the Asian market and her talent for strategic business planning, we are confident to continue the success story in Bangkok”, FTI Group CEO DMC Mario Habig says and adds: “The foundation for this was laid by Stephan and I would like to thank him for his commitment leading Meeting Point Asia in the past months and his contribution to the agency.”

Walsh has proven her touristic expertise in various positions around Asia throughout her career. With previous employments, such as Product Manager at Exo Travel, Senior Consultant – Director of Sales & Marketing at Mekong Cruises and Laos Hospitality Consulting, she has gained a broad know-how in operational strategies and innovative products. In her recent double position as a Project- and Marketing Manager in Thailand and as General Manager in Laos for the Diethelm Travel Group, she restructured the company set-up and managed a successful turnaround alongside with her team. Georgie Walsh reports to Mario Habig, CEO of Meeting Point International.

New management team in the “Land of Smiles”

As new head of the incoming agency, she will be supported by a skilled management team, which is in charge in Bangkok office since July 2023: With Khun Pongthep Anuphattanakool as Head of Operations, Khun Chonnipa Sukasam as Talent and Culture Business Partner and Simone Ruggenini as Head of Commercial, the DMC in the “Land of Smiles” sets sail to continue reshaping destination experiences for its customers.
