Tiger Airways launches third Australian base at Avalon Airport

Tiger Airways Australia is officially launching its third Australian base at Avalon Airport in Victoria on Tuesday, 9th November 2010. The launch ceremony will be co- hosted by Tiger Airways’ Australian Managing Director Crawford Rix and Avalon Airport’s Chief Executive Officer, Justin Giddings.

Attending will be key government and industry officials as well as tourism and industry partners including Tourism Victoria and Geelong Otway tourism.

It’s an exciting time of significant growth for Tiger Airways with the new base opening at Melbourne (Avalon) and three new aircraft confirmed for delivery in the next few months, meaning more jobs, more tourism benefits and more low fares for consumers.

“The combination of Avalon Airport’s redevelopment and Tiger’s arrival is an exciting occasion for one and all, not least thanks to the increased jobs and tourism benefits this brings to the region,” said Mr Rix.
