A record number of delegates have registered for the 10th Anniversary Cruise Down Under Conference scheduled to be held in Cairns from August 23 – 25, 2006. At close of registration, 111 delegates from all over Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia and Papua New Guinea have been attracted to this event. The “Navigating Our Future” Conference will feature a program of quality international and domestic speakers plus workshop sessions for those attending. International speakers include Rob Roberts from Princess Cruises/Cunard, whilst local speakers include Sarina Bratton of Orion Expedition Cruises, Brad Geatches from Cairns Port Authority and Prof. Ross Dowling from Edith Cowan University.

At the conference the 2005/2006 findings of the Economic Impact Study of the Cruise Shipping Industry in Australia will be released. The study has been undertaken by the AEC Group on behalf of Cruise Down Under and the Australian Government.

Cruise Down Under is the peak industry marketing body promoting Australia and the Pacific Region as an international cruise shipping destination and is a well recognised brand within the international cruise industry.
