Visa wins “Best Credit Card” for Hong Kong travellers in the 2018 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Favourites

In 2017 Hong Kong travellers spent an average of US$2,495 per trip and intend to spend US$3,007 per trip in the coming two years – a 21 percent increase.

HONG KONG – Visa announced it has been recognised as the winner in the 2018 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Favourites in the
“Best Credit Card” category. The annual list highlights the top products and services that help travellers have a perfect
trip. In Hong Kong, local travellers voted for popular brands across 13 categories including online travel agents,
pharmacies, supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants, and credit cards.

According to Visa’s Global Travel Intentions (GTI) Study(1), people in Hong Kong are planning to take more leisure trips
in the future, from an average of 3.2 trips in the past two years to 3.5 trips in the next two years. In 2017 Hong Kong
travellers spent an average of US$2,495 per trip and intend to spend US$3,007 per trip in the coming two years – a 21
percent increase.

A comprehensive study monitoring and analyzing international travel trends and consumer travel behavior, the Study is part of Visa’s continued commitment to helping industry players in their pursuit of growth in the global travel and tourism industry. Visa’s GTI Study was conducted in conjunction with research and business intelligence firm ORC International and collected data over the course of 15,500 interviews in 27 markets.
