Vietjet launches its newest international route connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Kuala Lumpur

The Ho Chi Minh City – Kuala Lumpur route is operated on a daily basis.

BANGKOK – Vietjet on June 1 launched its newest international route connecting Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) with Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). The inaugural flight coded VJ825, which landed at Kuala Lumpur at around 12:00 local time, received a warm welcome by the general public and senior leaders from the governments of Malaysia and Vietnam. Among them were Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung as well as senior leaders from the Ministry of Transport of Malaysia and Vietnam. The new flight will connect leisure and business travelers between two of ASEAN’s key cities. Furthermore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Ho Chi Minh City will form a strong backbone for growing cross-border trade and opportunities moving forward for the entire region.
 
Passengers on the inaugural flight from Kuala Lumpur to Ho Chi Minh City also enjoyed traditional Malay dances performed by Vietjet’s dancers, and Halal food served on board along with special gifts from Vietjet’s flight attendants.
 
The Ho Chi Minh City – Kuala Lumpur route is operated on a daily basis. Flying time per sector is about one hour and 55 minutes. The flights depart from Ho Chi Minh City at 9:30 (local time) and arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 12:25 (local time). Return flights take off from Kuala Lumpur at 13:00 (local time) and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 13:55 (local time).

Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh, Vice President of Vietjet, said: “Vietjet always prioritizes a customer-driven service experience as an important facet of its offering, and adding new routes between key cities is central to this goal. Thanks to its convenient flying times, affordable fares and high quality passenger services, the new route is expected to boost socio-economic ties and cultural exchange between the two countries.
 
Vietjet now has three daily flights between Bangkok and HCMC and two daily flights between Bangkok and Hanoi. The airline has already opened 50 routes in Vietnam and across the region to international destinations such as Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia and Myanmar. The airline boasts a fleet of 36 aircraft, including A320s and A321s, and operates 250 flights each day. With this constantly developing fleet of modern aircraft, passengers will experience the full suite of Vietjet’s high-quality services including SkyBoss, as well as opportunities to win economical fares and special surprises from the airline’s promotional campaigns.
