US News & World Report names Marriott Rewards top hotel loyalty program

Marriott International, Inc. is a leading lodging company with more than 3,800 properties in 74 countries and territories and reported revenues of nearly $12 billion in fiscal year 2012.

HONG KONG – U.S. News & World Report has named Marriott Rewards the top hotel loyalty program in its recent survey of hotel and airline frequent travel programs.  Cited for having no blackout dates and a portfolio of more than 3,700 hotels across 14 distinctive brands around the world, Marriott Rewards received the highest score among 16 major hotel programs.

“It’s a great honor to receive this award from U.S. News & World Report,” said Ed French, Senior Vice President, Marriott Rewards. “We continue to evolve Marriott Rewards to give our members the best experience of any hotel loyalty program, including our recent announcements of free breakfast seven days a week for our Elite members and Rewards Plus, our new partnership with United MileagePlus that offers special benefits to members in both programs.”

US News & World Report rankings were determined using a methodology that included the number of participating hotels, ease of earning and redeeming travel awards, and the programs’ overall flexibility.

Marriott Rewards has won more awards than any other hotel loyalty program, including the Freddie Award for “Best Hotel Rewards Program in the Americas” six years in a row and the 2011 and 2010 Frequent Travel Award for “Best Hotel Rewards Program. It has been named best hotel rewards program by the readers of About.com, Business Traveler, Global Traveler, Executive Travel and BusinessWeek magazines.
