Thai Vietjet launched Bangkok – Fukuoka service

On the inaugural flight, the first group of passengers to Fukuoka were welcomed with special souvenir from the airline.

Bangkok, Thailand – Thai Vietjet successfully commenced its flight service from Bangkok to Fukuoka, the carrier’s first destination in Japan, with major celebration ceremony at Fukuoka Airport on July 16, 2022.

On the inaugural flight, the first group of passengers to Fukuoka were welcomed with special souvenir from the airline. The maiden flight VZ810 from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport safely landed at Fukuoka Airport with the warm welcome from Mr. Sorut Sukthaworn, Consul General, Royal Thai Consulate-general in Fukuoka; Mr. Keng Chaivarin, Deputy Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand, Fukuoka Office; Mr. Ryousuke Shoujima, Deputy Governor of Fukuoka Prefecture; Mr. Hiroaki Mitsuyama, Deputy Mayor of Fukuoka City; Mr. Tetsuya Nagasao, Director and President & CEO of Fukuoka Airport (FIAC); and Mr. Luong Truong An, Executive Vice President of Thai Vietjet.

At the start, the new international service between Bangkok and Fukuoka will operate 3 flights a week every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, with an approximate flight duration of 5 hours 30 minutes and the following flight schedule:

Apart from the new international service between Bangkok and Fukuoka, currently, Vietjet Group operates the flights service from Hanoi (Vietnam) to Fukuoka and Nagoya with the frequency of 3 flights and 4 flights per week, respectively. In addition, Thai Vietjet also provides connecting flights for passengers travelling from Fukuoka via Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) to Phuket, Krabi, and Chiang Mai, offering more convenient and flexible choices of travel.

Currently, Thai citizens are required to apply for a visa to enter Japan with a negative result of RT-PCR test within 72 hours prior to departure, while fully vaccinated foreign passengers entering Thailand are no longer required for insurance and a certificate of COVID-19 test prior to entering the country nor undertake quarantine upon arrival. Passengers are also not required to apply for Thailand Pass prior to departure.
