Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) announced flight schedule adjustments and cancellation of some flights to Northern Thailand during 24-27 November 2015 due to Loy Krathong Festival and release of floating lanterns, maintaining flight safety standards.
Flt. Lt. Pratana Patanasiri, THAI Vice President, Aviation Safety, Security, and Standards Department, said that every year during Loy Krathong Festival, floating lanterns are set afloat in several northern provinces which may affect flight safety. Therefore, it order to maintain flight safety standards, the company has adjusted its flight schedule and cancelled some flights during 24-27 November 2015, details as follows.
1. Cancellation of the following roundtrip flights from Bangkok-Chiang Mai during 24-27 November 2015:
1.1 – TG120 from Bangkok-Chiang Mai on 24-25 November 2015.
1.2 – TG121 from Chiang Mai-Bangkok on 24-25 November 2015.
1.3 – TG122 from Bangkok-Chiang Mai on 24-26 November 2015.
1.4 – TG123 from Chiang Mai-Bangkok on 25-27 November 2015.
2. Change of flight departure time during 24-26 November 2015 for flights:
2.1 – TG116 on 24-25 November 2015, originally departs from Bangkok at 17.20 hours and arrives in Chiang Mai at 18.30 hours, is changed to depart from Bangkok at 15.50 hours and arrive in Chiang Mai at 17.00 hours.
2.2 – TG117 on 24-25 November 2015, originally departs from Chiang Mai at 19.20 hours and arrives in Bangkok at 20.30 hours, is changed to depart from Chiang Mai at 17.50 hours and arrive in Bangkok at 19.00 hours.
2.3 – TG116 on 26 November 2015, originally departs from Bangkok at 17.20 hours and arrives in Chiang Mai at 18.30 hours, is changed to depart from Bangkok at 15.00 hours and arrive in Chiang Mai at 16.10 hours.
2.4 – TG120 on 26 November 2015, originally departs from Bangkok at 18.40 hours and arrives in Chiang Mai at 20.00 hours, is changed to depart from Bangkok at 15.50 hours and arrive in Chiang Mai at 17.00 hours.
2.5 – TG121 on 26 November 2015, originally departs from Chiang Mai at 20.50 hours and arrives in Bangkok at 22.10 hours, is changed to depart from Chiang Mai at 17.50 hours and arrive in Bangkok at 19.00 hours.
