SMART Property & Lifestyle Expo 2012 debuts in Thailand at Royal Phuket Marina

Inaugural SMART expo targeting vibrant new Asia-Pacific property investment market December 27-30, 2012.

PHUKET, THAILAND – Asia’s longest running property and investment showcase is making its debut in Thailand staging SMART Property & Lifestyle Expo 2012 at Mediterranean-style luxury lifestyle haven Royal Phuket Marina (RPM) from December 27-30.

The four-day expo targets a vibrant market for investors in Thailand’s “playground of the world’s rich and famous” now also attracting legions of wealthy new visitors from both China and the former Soviet Union.

SMART, which has staged over 20 property expos over the past eight years in Hong Kong, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, now acknowledges Phuket among Asia-Pacific’s prime property investment destinations.

The organisers note that Ctrip.com, China’s leading online booking agency, recognises Phuket as top destination for Chinese travelers after Hong Kong.

Russia is also threatening to overtake Australia as Phuket’s second prime source of tourists, while visitor numbers are also growing notably from India and South Korea.

At the same time Phuket’s peerless lifestyle is attracting international recognition, voted ‘best place in the world for expats to live’ in a new survey by HSBC Expat Explorer, based on a poll of over 4,000 expats in more than 100 countries.

Phuket and Thailand ranked high in all categories – from ease of setting up finances and work-life balance to entertainment and ease of integration with local culture. Thailand also ranked most popular among retired expatriates.

The expo at Royal Phuket Marina Exhibition & Conference Hall will include a showcase of the latest new condominium development at the hosting venue, branded ‘La Reserve Residences’. The third phase of the luxury lifestyle community at Royal Phuket Marina is especially tailored for families. It features 40 one and two-bedroom apartments in two condominium blocks each with their own rooftop ‘Sky Pools’. Infinity-edged rooftop swimming pools and decks overlooking stunning Phan Nga Bay are tropically landscaped, complete with barbecue areas.

The residences incorporate a Kid’s Club with multiple pools, interactive play areas and entertainment rooms with an indoor lounge with restaurant and bar for parents.

One-bedroom apartments range from 49-63 square metres with sophisticated designer lounges, en-suite bathrooms, fitted kitchens and balconies. Two-bedroom condos are of 83-140 square metres with en suite bathrooms in both master and guest / children bedrooms, spacious kitchens and generous dining areas.

Ground-floor units enjoy their own private wraparound tropical gardens. Upper-floor units have pristine views over Phang Nga Bay as well as the marina and waterways.

Royal Phuket Marina will also showcasing any few remaining award-winning waterfront Aquaminium apartments or the last Royal Villa left on the market by the time of the expo.

World-class facilities at Royal Phuket Marina include floodlit tennis courts; exercise classes and ‘new generation’ personal training at Phuket’s leading health and fitness centre; Pearl Beauty & Spa for beauty and wellness treatments; and Dr. Orawan’s Holistic Anti-Aging Institute, Thailand’s leading holistic healthcare centre. Bars and restaurants along a Fisherman’s Wharf-style marina boardwalk include Skippers sports bar & restaurant and Les Anges cafe, deli and bakery. Trendy designer boutiques include swimwear and ‘island’ fashion by Paul Ropp, Surfers Paradise and Starblu.

Royal Phuket Marina is Thailand’s first world-class luxury lifestyle marina community, rivaling top resort communities in Europe and the Caribbean.

With more than 200 direct international flights weekly from major tourist markets in both Asia and Europe, Phuket is the uncontested gateway to this marine playground for the rich and famous.

Phuket welcomed a 30% increase in overseas visitors last year with 4.2 million arrivals at the international airport.
