Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok named to Conde Nast Traveller’s 29th Annual ‘Reader’s Choice Awards 2016’

By competing against a number of hoteliers in the region, Shangri-La Hotel achieved a score of 94.05, ranking the ninth in Southern Asia and the second in Thailand.

Readers of Condé Nast Traveler (US) voted Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok the ninth in Southern Asia on a list of “Top Hotels in Southern Asia” in the magazine’s 29 th annual Readers’ Choice Awards 2016 at a high-profile presentation dinner in New York recently.
 
The Readers’ Choice Awards 2016 features the world’s best hotels, resorts and cruise lines as selected by subscribers and more than 300,000 travellers took part in the survey this year. By competing against a number of hoteliers in the region, the hotel achieved a score of 94.05, ranking the ninth in Southern Asia and the second in Thailand.
 
“The entries were from the South Asia countries and were more impressive year after year. Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok has outshone our peers and proven exceptional levels of professionalism and competence in our field,” said Phillip Couvaras, the hotel’s Area Manager and General Manager.
 
Conde Nast Traveler (US)’s Readers & Choice Awards are the international five-star standard of hotel ratings. The award winners’ scores are recognised as symbols of excellence throughout the global hospitality industry.
 
“In attaining one of these coveted awards, our hotel has proven its capability to outperform some exceedingly strong contenders within the competitive South Asia hospitality arena. With this latest five-star accolade adding into our prestigious award list, the hotel continues to gain international recognition for its perfection,” Phillip Couvaras added.
