Sanya Phoenix International Airport wins Best Improvement Award in Asia-Pacific

With a dismal average of 3.60 in the ASQ survey, Sanya Airport tested, analyzed and took rectification measures on about 1,000 items over the past four years.

MONTREAL – On March 13, 2013, the Airports Council Internationals (ACI) announced the recipients of its annual Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards for 2012 in Montreal. Sanya Phoenix International Airport, which ranks among the best airports in the world, was awarded Best Improvement in Asia-Pacific and became the fifth international airport that was given this award.

In February 2009, Sanya Airport enrolled in the ASQ program for brand promotion strategy, presented its application to the ACI in May and signed the cooperation agreement on June 16th, becoming one of the members of the ASQ program. Sanya Airport has participated in 14 ASQ passenger satisfaction surveys with a minimum of 6,000 passengers interviewed, covering passengers of all flights in the airport.

With a dismal average of 3.60 in the ASQ survey, Sanya Airport tested, analyzed and took rectification measures on about 1,000 items over the past four years. Since then, the Airport Service Quality in Sanya Airport has made great progress. By the end of 2012, the average score of Sanya Airport in the ASQ survey had reached 4.69 with an increase of 1.09 compared with 2009. Meanwhile, its rank in the Airport Service Satisfaction had improved to 15 in 2012 from a rank of 118 in 2009, and was awarded Best Improvement in Asia-Pacific. 199 airports had participated in the election.

Sanya Phoenix Airport is managed and operated by the HNA Group, whose passenger numbers ranks the first among airports in the non-provincial capital and prefectural-level cities of China.
