Peach Aviation boosts its presence at Kansai International Airport

All Nippon Airways subsidiary Peach Aviation will offer more flights on its international and domestic network from this coming October.

Peach Aviation Ltd, a low cost subsidiary of All Nippon Airways based at Osaka Kansai International Airport, will sharply increase its domestic service to 34 flights a day over the next six months under a strategic plan announced last Tuesday.

The low-cost carrier operates this summer 22 daily domestic flights connecting its base in Osaka’s Kansai International Airport with four cities: Sapporo, Fukuoka, Nagasaki and Kagoshima. In December, it will add two daily flights to both its Sapporo and Kagoshima routes, bringing its total flights on these routes to respectively 10 and 6. Two daily flights will be added to the Fukuoka route in February, raising the total to eight. The airline will also start flying to Naha, Okinawa’s capital, this October with four daily flights. The Naha route will increase to six flights in February.

Since launching its first flight last February, Peach Aviation enjoyed a high seat occupancy rate of 70-80%. It sees the potential for more demand and expects to maintain an occupancy rate of at least 70% even after the service expansion.

On its international service, the airline will also increase its offer. Peach confirmed three round-trips per day for the Osaka (Kansai) – Seoul (Incheon) route, one round-trip flight per day for the Osaka (Kansai) – Hong Kong route, and one round-trip flight per day for the Osaka (Kansai) – Taipei (Taoyuan) route. In addition, Peach plans to increase its flights to two round-trips per day for the Osaka (Kansai) – Taipei (Taoyuan) from Saturday December 15 as soon as schedules get governmental approval.
