Paytm launches real time bus location for bus travel booked at Paytm.com

Paytm.com launches industry first real time updates of bus location to help you board in time. Service available on mobile too for making it available on the move.

The newest entrant in the inter city Bus ticketing space – Paytm.com has solved a big consumer pain point in bus travel. Customers booking online through Paytm.com can now track the estimated arrival time of their bus before they leave for the boarding point. This makes Paytm the first commerce site to provide this unique service to commuters.

Due to traffic congestion in cities, buses often get delayed in reaching the boarding points, which is discomforting for the commuters.

Today onwards commuters will have a choice to book a bus journey on Paytm, based on whether the bus has real-time GPS system installed in it or not. Upon booking, they will receive a SMS an hour before the boarding time giving them details of current location of the bus and the estimated time of the arrival at the boarding point.  At any point of time, user can refresh the link to know the current status of the bus.

Commenting on the launch, Harinder Thakar, CEO Paytm.com said “in our endeavor to provide the best and most hassle free bus travel experience to our customers we always try to add value to our offerings. With the new GPS solution for bus tracking I am sure our consumers will find even more value in buying their bus tickets on Paytm”.

Right now the real-time tracking will be available for large bus operators in South India – Morning Star Travels, Orange Tours & Travels, SVR Tours & Travels ,Navin Travels, Sree Travels and Kaveri Kamkshi Travels.

Paytm expects to have more than 1000 buses with real-time GPS made available for commuters who book through the site in a couple of months. This service will also be available in 100 more cities like Hyderabad, Guntur, Vijayawada, Bangalore, Tirupati, Vishakhapatnam, Mumbai, Pune, Nellore, Chennai, Erode, Salem, Madurai, Nagpur, Ongole, Coimbatore and Mysore to mention a few.
