New ‘orchestrated web services’ from Abacus International

Abacus International, Asia’s leading travel distributor, has launched three new ‘orchestrated web services’ on Abacus WebConnect that enable travel agencies to achieve faster customer response time and improved cost efficiencies on their websites. An orchestrated web service combines multiple transactions intelligently into a single web service call, which reduces the development effort and improves response time.

The three new orchestrated web services are: PNR Builder which combines the creation of passenger data and itinerary booking; Enhanced Air Book Service which consolidates itinerary booking and pricing transactions; and the Enhanced Air Book with Tax Service which includes return air tax information in the same service call.

The new orchestrated web services improve online customers’ experience with faster response times as a single orchestrated service call can be up to 25 times faster than executing all the individual service calls. These new services also deliver more complete information to travellers in a shorter space of time.

Abacus WebConnect is an innovative technology that enables travel agents to connect their websites to Abacus’ content and functionalities across all products.

Abacus International, Mr. Brett Henry, Vice President, Marketing said, “It has become extremely important for our agencies to optimise every channel they are using to create greater value whether it is in terms of service delivery or cost efficiencies.”

“We are pressing on to further boost our agencies’ online businesses during these tight market conditions as we recognise a real need from our agencies to deliver a differentiated online customer experience.”

Agencies can enjoy the benefits of these new orchestrated web services at no additional charges.
