TOKYO- The area around Shibuya Station has been for a long time under redevelopment and is set to become a town on its own, where visitors gather to experience the latest in  and entertainment in the Japanese capital. As a start-up of this big project spanning more than 10 years, Shibuya Hikarie, a high-rise complex facility, opened in front of Shibuya Station on April 26, 2012. The 34-story building with 4 basement floors houses a large event hall that can accommodate a myriad of events, such as trade fairs, exhibitions, and fashion shows, a stylish shopping arcade produced by Tokyu Department Store, a creative lab space showcasing works of artists from Japan and the rest of Asia, cafes, restaurants, and offices. “Tokyu Theatre Orb,” an authentic musical theater with 1,972 seats, will open on July 18, 2012, with the performance of West Side Story.
