As part of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of Malaysia-Thailand relations, the contest is open to all Thai students studying at the universities in Thailand.
Bangkok – The Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok is organising an essay writing contest in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and Thailand.
H.E. Dato’ Jojie Samuel, Ambassador of Malaysia to Thailand, announced the launch of the Malaysia Truly Asia “Nak Suk Sa Pai Malaysia Adventure 2018” Essay Writing Contest on 3 May 2018 at the Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok.
The exciting essay writing contest, with the collaboration of Malaysian Airlines (MAS) and Tourism Malaysia as the main sponsors, is supported by Education Malaysia, the Ministry of Education of Thailand, the Office of the Higher Education Commission of Thailand, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and Conceptual Events Co. Ltd.
As part of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of Malaysia-Thailand relations, the contest is open to all Thai students studying at the universities in Thailand. The objective of the contest is to give the Thai youth the opportunity to increase their awareness and further explore Malaysia Truly Asia.
With their participation, H.E. Dato’ Jojie Samuel, Ambassador of Malaysia to Thailand, expressed hope to reach out to the other stakeholders in Thailand, with aims to create awareness among the younger generation of Thai travellers. While creating greater awareness of travel to Malaysia, Malaysia Airlines (MAS) is also promoted as the preferred airline for Thai travellers.
The essay writing contest would also inspire the participants to develop the ability to conduct research and find more information about Malaysia. This would challenge their minds with creative thinking using language to express themselves.
Contest Rules:
- No participation fee applies.
- The contest is open only to Thai students currently studying at the universities in Thailand, aged 17 to 25 years old.
- Period of contest would run from 3 May till 30 June 2018.
- The essay topic is “Why I want to have my adventure in Malaysia” and can be written in Thai or English.
- Each entry should be no more than 300 words long.
- Each entry should be registered with a Like on the Embassy Facebook page in order to receive a registration form. The registration form is to be submitted together with the essay via email.
- Each essay entry should be creative and original. Participants are encouraged to do more research on Malaysia in order to understand what it offers, i.e. food, arts and culture, people, architecture, holiday destinations, natural attractions and many more.
- The entry must be submitted by Saturday, 30 June 2018.
- Judges will chose the five (5) best winning essays. Decision of the judges is final.
- The Embassy holds the copyrights to all winning entries.
- Announcement of winners would be posted on the Embassy Facebook page. Winners will be also contacted individually by the Embassy.
- The two winning prizes are return air tickets Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur-Bangkok, with a 3-day-2night accommodation and tour packages. There are also three consolation prizes which are return air tickets Bangkok-Penang-Bangkok only.
- The winners must post their daily adventure in Malaysia on the Embassy Facebook page, including their experience using Malaysia Airlines.
- The proposed date for travel is July – October 2018.
