In view of the flood situation, the Department of Civil Aviation has instructed for the closure of the Sultan Abdul Halim Airport in the northern state capital of Kedah. All Malaysia Airlines flights to and from Alor Setar from 20 – 21 December 2005 has been cancelled.
Flights affected are:
- MH1202 – Kuala Lumpur-Alor Setar
- MH1203 – Alor Setar-Kuala Lumpur
- MH1208 – Kuala Lumpur-Alor Setar
- MH1209 – Alor Setar-Kuala Lumpur
- MH1252 – Kuala Lumpur- Alor Setar
- MH1253 – Alor Setar-Kuala Lumpur
Malaysia Airlines is monitoring the situation closely and will resume flights as soon as the Department of Civil Aviation and Malaysia Airports Berhad give clearance for the reopening of the airport.
