Luxperience 2014 to move to new iconic venue

Luxperience 2014 will take place 31 August to 3 September 2014. Early bird registrations for Luxperience 2014 are open and prospective exhibitors and buyers are encouraged to secure their participation early in order to be part of the enhanced 2014 event.

SYDNEY – Luxperience will move into the historical Pier 2/3 within Sydney’s Walsh Bay precinct for the 2014 event.

Located just a stone’s throw from the Overseas Passenger Terminal (OPT) at Circular Quay where the event has been held for the past 2 years, the new location not only continues to remain close to the key city icons of the  Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge, it also offers an opportunity to appreciate Sydney’s growing arts scene and new city precinct.

The move away from the OPT has been necessary as Luxperience is set to double in size this coming year. Strong interest from exhibitors following the successful 2013 edition will mean that more space is required for exhibitors who have signed on. In addition, interest from exhibitors to take up more space for their custom stands has also prompted Luxperience to consider new venues to accommodate these requirements.

Built in the early 1900s and later refurbished in the early 2000s, Pier 2/3 Walsh Bay is the last remaining undeveloped wharf within the Walsh Bay precinct and more so Sydney’s last wharf structure still in its original state. Pier2/3 has been the site of the Biennale of Sydney since 1986 and has earned the reputation as an engaging non-museum space, providing a rustic, industrial area spacious enough for large installations as well as other unique special events.

“The magnificent views of Sydney Opera House throughout Luxperience have been one of the key highlights for  both exhibitors and buyers during our last 2 shows,” said Lindy Andrews, Chief Executive of Luxperience. She added: “next year not only will delegates  conduct business surrounded by the  Sydney Harbour Bridge, Pier 2/3 at Walsh Bay promises to showcase another side of the famous Harbour – the creative and  inspiring aura of  the Sydney Theatre Company and the Sydney Dance Company, who are located  in neighbouring buildings in the precinct.”

“Exhibitors at Luxperience  were greatly  inspired by the presence created this year  by participants  such as Fiji so are now enquiring about  bigger spaces for 2014. Hence it was important for us to ensure that our new venue could support all the infrastructure requirements as well. ” shared Eric Lewanavanua, Director of Sales & Partner Alliances.
