Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre: The venue of choice for corporate events

The Centre increases number of new events while retaining its strong backbone of recurrent clients.

Out of 901 events held in the first eight month of the year, 237 or 26% were new events choosing the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre) for the first time. From 1 January 2018 to 31 August 2018, corporate meetings and banqueting events (corporate sales segment) recorded the biggest growth of the Centre’s business segments, with a jump of 161 events which was a 22% increase in comparison to the same period last year.

Elaborating on this, the Centre’s General Manager, Alan Pryor, shared, “We are pleased with our performance so far this year, especially in the corporate sales segment. This growth reinforces the significance of our strategic location in the heart of the world-class Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) integrated precinct that provides exceptional connectivity and accessibility for corporate delegates, especially participants with limited time and those who want convenience at their doorstep. Our location gives guests access to a varied and exciting range of recreational, entertainment, food & beverage and accommodation options, all within walking distance.”

With a flexible partnership approach, the Centre takes pride in its customisable solutions and services that are tailormade to suit a client’s specific event requirements in order to meet their demands and deliver a seamless and rewarding customer journey from beginning to end.

Some of the new events hosted this year included Malaysia Fintech Expo & Business Award 2018, Della Live in Malaysia, Sapura Secured Technologies – Forum, Mercedes S Class Launch and Anugerah Telenovela 2018, to name few.

The Anugerah Telenovela 2018 was a great success. We are honoured to have had our event at this prestigious venue that is very well located in the golden triangle of Kuala Lumpur. We received excellent service from the team who were very cooperative and helpful in making sure the event went as planned. We are definitely looking forward to doing our next event at the Centre again!” said Hasan Hamzah, Chairman of Yayasan Pembangunan Buku Negara.

Echoing Hasan’s comments, after a successful Townhall and Annual Dinner at the Centre, Peggy Teh, Human Resource Manager at Tokio Marine Insurans shared, “We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation for the wonderful job and service rendered to us by the Centre’s team. It is our first time having an event here and it truly met our expectations. The location of the Centre made it very convenient for us and of course, we were tantalised by the culinary experience which was the highlight of our annual dinner.”

Pryor concluded, “Looking ahead, our corporate bookings remain strong for the rest of the year with 37% of our fourth quarter bookings locked in and our team is working hard carry this momentum into 2019. We are also looking forward to the completion of our expansion in July next year, which provides over 11,000 sqm of additional flexible space for our clients to grow their events and for us to house more events concurrently.”
