Incheon Airport – the “Culture Port”

To celebrate the 12th Anniversary and the world's best airport for 8 consecutive years in airport service, many cultural performances to be given this spring.

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA – Incheon Airport, increasingly being known for the cultural performances it holds throughout the year, will introduce many new performances for this spring to celebrate both its being selected as the best airport for airport service quality (ASQ) by the Airports Council International (ACI) for 8 years in a row as well as its 12th anniversary.

For this spring, regular one-hour performances will be staged at 4:00pm from March 27th to the 31st in the Millennium Hall located at the center of the Passenger Terminal. Top artists from various genres including Korean traditional music, classical and ballet will perform together.

On the first day (Mar 27), the INSIEM Orchestra, world-class pianist and composer Yiruma, soprano Won-Jeong Kim, (who played the heroine of the musical the Last Empress) and world-class tenor Jeong-Pil Ryu will perform together to kick-off this spring’s series of magnificent and splendid performances. On the second day (Mar 28), Jeong-Ga-Ak-Hoe, the great Korean traditional music group that was the first Korean performing group to be nominated for the Grammy Award, and the “fusion” Korean traditional music group Easternox will stage an exciting dance performance featuring a spectacular lion’s mask.

Scheduled for the 29th, the 12th anniversary of Incheon Airport, the a cappella group Maytree and the first Korean performance brass band Funnyband will collaborate for a feast of buzzy harmony.

Then on the 30th a popular gala ballet will be performed. Top ballerina Won-Kuk Lee will serve as the commentator providing insights on the piece and tell stories about backstage intrigue.

On the last day of the spring regular performance (Mar 31), top Korean jazz saxophonist Jeong-Sik Lee and the talented session trio, along with jazz vocalist Jeong-Ran will present an exciting jazz melody.

Incheon International Airport works hard to continuously introduce its own differentiated cultural contents by giving performances throughout the year. The airport also maintains a unique traditional “culture street” on the 4th floor along with its own Korean History and Culture Exhibition Hall. These together with the year-round live performances have firmly established Incheon International Airport as a unique “culture port.”
