The Hyatt Culinary Challenge was conceptualized as a unique event that will bring together individuals from the corporate realm on a common platform; where they could showcase their culinary expertise and passion for food in an interactive culinary event.

MUMBAI – To emphasize Hyatt’s focus on its rich culinary heritage, Hyatt Hotels in India introduced the “Hyatt Culinary Challenge – people cooking for people” in 2014. The first season was a memorable experience for its guests, as well as the hotel associates engaged in the preparations. The challenge is back in 2015, with the second season commencing October 31 onwards across 10 Hyatt India destinations.

The Hyatt Culinary Challenge was conceptualized as a unique event that will bring together individuals from the corporate realm on a common platform; where they could showcase their culinary expertise and passion for food in an interactive culinary event. Each participant will be paired with a child from the SMILE Foundation, Hyatt’s partner NGO in India and they will recreate a recipe of their choice for the judges. The corporate winner from each city will compete at the grand finale at Mumbai in November 2015.

Hyatt India Culinary Challenge preliminary rounds will be held across Hyatt Hotels in Ahmedabad (Hyatt Regency Ahmedabad), Amritsar (Hyatt Amritsar), Bangalore (Hyatt Bangalore), Chennai (Park Hyatt Chennai), Delhi (Hyatt Regency Delhi), Goa (Grand Hyatt Goa), Hyderabad (Hyatt Hyderabad), Kolkata (Hyatt Regency Kolkata), Mumbai (Hyatt Regency Mumbai), and Pune (Hyatt Regency Pune) on October 31 and November 1, 2015, and the finale will be held at Grand Hyatt Mumbai on November 15, 2015. There will also be an exciting digital version of the Culinary Challenge in each of the 10 cities where one participant shall be selected to participate in the preliminary round.

Speaking on the occasion, Harleen Mehta, Vice President Sales Operations, Hyatt South Asia, said, “The Hyatt Culinary Challenge is an endeavour to bring together people to celebrate their passion for food and make a difference to the community while doing so. We are delighted with the overwhelming response from the participants both offline and online, and look forward to doing more such events over the years.

According to Vikram Singh Verma, COO, SMILE Foundation, “In order to bring some real and permanent changes in the lives of the most deserving children across India, members of the civil society need to be involved proactively in the process of development. We are overwhelmed by the support from Hyatt India and hope for continued collaboration in the future to see lasting impact in the upliftment of our local communities.
