For industry colleagues who have an interest in the China hotel market, we are pleased to announce the first ever China Hotel Investment Summit (CHIS) to be held in Shanghai on 28 and 29 of April 2005 at The Westin Shanghai Hotel.
The China market presents great opportunity for both domestic and international players, but entry into the hotel market may also present significant challenges for many who are not familiar with the hotel market and the investment environment. As such, CHIS provides a platform where participants can be better informed.
CHIS will also provide an opportunity for hotel owners, developers, investors, operators, government agencies and industry specialists to come together to share their best practices, new ideas and the latest market trends.
For hotel developers and investors in China, CHIS will be a ‘One-Stop’ marketplace to tap into new development concepts, a venue to meet major regional and international hotel operators, prospective equity partners, financing partners and industry experts and learn of new investment opportunities.
According to Steve Rushmore, Founder and Global President of HVS International “it is most appropriate to host a world class hotel investment summit in China, given China’s position as the economic powerhouse of Asia. CHIS will be a platform where closer relationships can be fostered between interest groups and business deals can be initiated, such as what we have seen over the years at the NYU hotel conference in New York”.
Additionally, CHIS will not only benefit industry players, but also the wider China tourism and hotel markets in the long run. The proposed summit has garnered widespread industry support from both the domestic and international hotel community, including the leading hotel association of China, the China Tourist Hotel Association, which is most supportive of having a world class hotel summit in China.
