HotelCorp, one of Thailand’s largest privately held hospitality management companies introduces its new hotel brand Hotel UNO. In an announcement today, the first property to be developed under this brand is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2008.
Mr. Roy E. Olsson, President and Chief Executive Officer of HOTELCORP says, “We discovered a market niche in many Asian cities where existing buildings in key locations were not being torn down due to the lengthy process required to obtain new construction permits. The Hotel UNO brand is ideal to fill this niche.”
“Hotel UNO was created especially for conversion properties, and is perfectly suited for key city locations that have conversion potential, such as small office buildings and residential or hotel properties. A notable feature unique to the Hotel UNO brand is the option that we offer to owners who may wish to personalize the name of the hotel with their own unique ‘signature’ by adding it to the Hotel UNO name, such as “Sacha’s Hotel UNO”,” Mr. Olsson added.
In 2007, HOTELCORP commenced development of the first two UNO properties in Bangkok. The first one is called Sacha’s Hotel UNO located at Sukhumvit Soi 19 and is scheduled to have its soft opening by October 2008. Sacha’s Hotel UNO is a Re-development of an existing office building into a 56-room boutique hotel.

“Hotel Uno is a fresh new take on the urban hotel, providing an experience by focusing on the essentials of a great stay, with the least possible distractions,” Mr. Busu further added.
The second property under development is Hotel UNO Tiwanon which is a complete turnkey project by HotelCorp under the Hotel UNO brand. This 150-room flagship property is scheduled to open in July 2010.
