As Singapore gears up for a long weekend to celebrate Hari Raya and National Day, global travel search site Skyscanner has seen flight searches almost double on last month.
SINGAPORE – Skyscanner identified the fastest growing destinations and found searches for flights to Shanghai have risen a huge 241% compared to the same weekend the previous month.
Following closely behind Shanghai are Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh, proving that Vietnam is a continuing to grow in popularity with Singaporean travellers. Searches for flights to the cities grew by 191% and 173% respectively.
In fourth place in the fastest growing list was Colombo in Sri Lanka which grew 168% on the previous month, followed by Hong Kong which saw an increase of 167% on July.
In the top 10 overall most popular destinations list, the sun-kissed island of Bali comes top closely followed by Bangkok, Hong Kong and beach favourite Phuket. Kuala Lumpur completes the top five most popular destinations for Singapore travellers.
