What Fiji needs right now is to access the lucrative trade and tourism markets that are available in Asian developed economies as well as those further beyond like markets in Europe, the United States of America, Africa and South America. Interim Transport Minister, Manu Korovulavula made the comment as he opened the Air Pacific New Storage facilities at Nadi on Friday, 3rd August 2007.
The vehicle that will make these strategic developments become a reality is the national airline Air Pacific, he said.
Air Pacific is Fiji’s lifeline to the rest of the world. We look after the interests of the Airline and the Airline will ensure that we access lucrative trade and tourism markets internationally, he added.
Fiji is strategically placed in the Pacific Region. Our position in the Region is therefore our strength which used properly through educated utilization of our air services can bring us untold economic and social relief.
