EUTO Study Visit: ‘Building long-term futures for quality destinations’

The EUTO study visit takes place in Catalonia from 18 – 25 October 2009 and incorporates an academic conference organised by The Centre for Tourism and Cultural Change (CTCC) on 19-20 October. The programme provides opportunities for practitioners and academics to meet, exchange ideas and socialise.

The aim is to promote the exchange of knowledge and best practice in tourism management and skills development in the industry. It’s a great opportunity to learn from and network with tourism professionals from across Europe.

EUTO study visit themes to be explored include the Challenge and Opportunities for Mature Destinations; Managing Mature Destinations; Innovation; The new role of the Tourist Officer; Heritage; and Using Films to promote & develop destinations. The Study visit will travel throughout the region of Catalonia starting in Girona before travelling on to Cambrils and culminating in a visit to Barcelona. The study visit will consist of lectures, case studies and workshops as well as many networking opportunities.
