Conrad Macao crowned “Best New City Hotel” in Asia Pacific

Illustrious TTG Travel Awards pin points luxurious new hotel in Macao, Conrad Macao, Cotai Central.

MACAO – Conrad Macao, Cotai Central has been named the “Best New City Hotel” by the 23rd Annual TTG Travel Awards 2012, a strong testament to the hotel’s commitment to service excellence and exceptional facilities. An award ceremony and gala dinner was held October 4 in Bangkok, attended by some of the industry’s most renowned personalities and members of the international press.

The TTG Travel Awards, one of Asia Pacific’s most influential awards ceremonies for the travel trade, has honoured 81 stellar organisations and individuals in four categories in its 23rd edition this year. The awards serve as an indicator of exemplary standards, and consequently, shifts in trends and developments in the travel industry. Conrad Macao has been voted as the “Best New City Hotel” by the readers of TTG’s print and online publications, who are travel consultants, tour operators and destination management companies across Asia Pacific. These industry professionals have recognised Conrad Macao’s remarkable services and facilities, extensive range of value-added benefits, charitable and environmental sustainability programs, as well as its professional sales and marketing team for their innovative ideas and service.

We are extremely delighted to receive this honour as the ‘Best New City Hotel’ in the region. This prominent award recognizes all the passion and dedication of our team members, who represent 30 nationalities and speak over 20 languages, and who have opened a stunning new hotel this year, clearly establishing Conrad Macao as a new benchmark for luxury hotels in our city, and the region,” says Troy Hickox, General Manager, Conrad Macao, Cotai Central. “It also recognizes all those partnerships we have fostered, and value greatly – that help us get the good word out, and bring the business in. We deeply appreciate all the travel experts who voted us as the best – and for all their support, effort and feedback in our opening year.”

The world’s largest Conrad hotel has already hosted a number of A-list international stars and celebrities of film, fashion, music and sporting fame, and will be featured in Zhang Ziyi’s newest feature film, My Lucky Star.

Conrad Macao’s 636 rooms and suites bring the luxury of being yourself to Asia’s newest integrated resort, Sands Cotai Central, on the famous and exciting Cotai Strip® development in Macao, with a host of luxury amenities to compliment Conrad’s personalised and intuitive service. The 39-floor tower offers sumptuous rooms and suites with signature touches including the popular his-and-hers plush hooded microfibre robes and tailored satin slippers, bespoke handmade lychee candy, the hallmark teddy bear and ever-unique bespoke Conrad Macao rubber duck – Lucky Ducky – in every room.

Conrad Macao’s signature restaurant, Dynasty 8, features classic and authentic high-end Chinese cuisine by renowned Chef Wong Man. Drawing its inspiration from the heritage of 2,000 years of culinary excellence, it exudes an old world charm that is brought to life by decor and unique Chinaware inspired by eight ancient Chinese dynasties.

Guests may also indulge themselves in a journey through ancient spa traditions aligning Ayurvedic, Aboriginal and Asian elements at Bodhi Spa. Conrad Macao also has a fully-equipped fitness centre by Technogym featuring cardiovascular and strength equipment and a functional training room with yoga and pilates lessons available.

The TTG Travel Awards has been recognising the best of Asia Pacific’s travel industry since 1989. This prestigious annual event honours stellar organisations and individuals in four categories: Travel Supplier, Travel Agency, Outstanding Achievement and Travel Hall of Fame.
