From Mauritius,it is a short half-hour flight to Reunion Island, with 10-12 transfers every day.

Little known outside France, Reunion Island is the only French tropical island in the Indian Ocean and has long been a hideaway paradise retreat for the French jet-set, and a tropical alternative to the French Riviera. Global luxury travellers are now discovering this breath-taking isle defined by dramatic volcanic mountains, idyllic beaches and coral reefs, a pleasant tropical climate and exquisite hospitality.

LUX* Ille de la Reunion was named Reunion Island’s Leading Hotel at the 2012 and 2013 World Travel Awards, and is an idyllic five-star destination for weddings, honeymoons and memorable holidays with family and friends. Travellers to Reunion Island can experience its rich and varied gastronomy, with influences from India, Sri Lanka, Africa, France and China. The resort’s three restaurants showcase local Creole dishes using island ingredients, freshly caught seafood and Asian and Western favourites.
Relaxation can be found at the resort’s 1,100sqm swimming pool, and in the deluxe spa offering indoor and garden treatments.

Guests at LUX* Ille de la Reunion can discover the many unique activities that the ‘Island of a Thousand Colours’ has to offer. The peaceful, crystal-clear waters of the Hermitage lagoon, which is protected by a coral reef, are perfect for snorkelling, paddle boarding, or even admiring the colourful underwater world in the LUX* transparent kayak. Close to the resort, guests can also enjoy diving, surfing and deep-sea fishing, or play a round of golf.

Reunion Island’s diverse and dramatic landscapes promise plenty of jaw-dropping adventures. Guests can explore the sites in ultimate style by taking a helicopter tour over the only active volcano in the Indian Ocean, mysterious volcanic circles, majestic waterfalls, an ocean wave geyser and the famous Notre Dame des Laves Church.
