China Travel Retail event to take place in Shanghai

The two day China Travel Retail event (CTR) will bring together decision makers from airports, airlines, seaports, cruise/ferry companies, and travel retail brands, all seeking to understand and market to the rapidly growing Chinese travel retail market.

The conference and exhibition will take place at a prestigious venue in Shanghai, and will showcase best practices both domestically inside China at Chinese airports, on Chinese airlines and at sea, as well as how companies are successfully selling to Chinese consumers travelling overseas.

China Travel Retail 2012 will also be covered by a special bilingual English and Chinese language edition of The Moodie Report, which will be distributed at the event.

Nick Tan, President of GIS events, said “We are delighted to be teaming up with Ink to bring domestic and international travel retailers together with brands from around the world. Ink has unrivalled contacts in the travel media industry, and a firm footing in the travel retail sector with the hugely successful and growing Airline Retail Conferences in Europe and Asia. By combining our strengths, we can help airports, airlines, cruise operators, concessionaires, and global and local brands develop their business with Chinese consumers -both inside China and around the world.”

Jeffrey O’Rourke, Ink Chief Executive said, “GIS Events is the natural partner for launching China Travel Retail 2012. Building on GIS’s deep contacts and extensive experience in the Chinese airport and airline industry, and their success with events like the China Airline Ancillary Revenue Summit, the China Airside Management Summit, the China Aviation E-Commerce Summit and the China Airline Catering Management Summit, we aim to bring together the wide range of companies seeking to reach Chinese travellers under one roof in Shanghai.

With Asia Pacific set to overtake Europe as the largest travel retail market in 2012 (source Generation Research), and Chinese consumers making up the largest part of the Asian market, the China Travel Retail Conference is a must attend event for travel retailers and concessionaires, and Health & Beauty, Gifts, Confectionery, Eyewear, Fashion & Accessories, Tobacco and Wine & Spirits brands alike.
