China Southern comes to London providing better connections for the Pacific

The launch of new direct services by China Southern between Guangzhou and London will boost connectivity between Europe and Australia…

GUANGZHOU- China Southern had to wait for 8 years to finally see a dream turning true. Last week, the Chinese carrier was able to launch a new route between Guangzhou and London Heathrow, a first between both cities. Flights operate for now three times a week linking one of China’s largest manufacturing centre to one of the world’s financial capital. China Southern management capitalizes especially on attracting connecting passengers from both Australia and New Zealand to the British capital. Australia and New Zealand travellers can now go to the UK in just 26 hours, including a three-hour stopover at Guangzhou International Airport, one of China’s most modern air gateway.

During the inaugural ceremony, Si Xianmin, president and chairman of China Southern Airlines Company Limited explained: “The launch of the Guangzhou-London air service marks a bold new step forward in China Southern’s aviation development in the London marketplace. This new air service will play an important role in China Southern’s “Canton Route” strategy and will serve as an air bridge that connects Europe with China and Australasia.” In another development, China Southern is also boosting capacities to Amsterdam and Vancouver. Amsterdam is now served on a daily basis out of Guangzhou while Vancouver will be upgraded to 5 frequencies per week from June 23.
