Change in ownership of Diethelm Travel

Tourasia Roemer AG together with Arcothai International Ltd and the investor Gonpo Tsering will be joining forces to take over Diethelm Travel.

Diethelm Travel begun in 1957, when they started developing journeys of a lifetime experiences. Decades of stories created and inspired people from all over the world to come and discover a cornucopia of vibrant people, culture and a lifestyle that is both Asian and Western in origin, set amid vistas of verdant mountains and pristine beaches.

Skippered by captains with foresight set on the growth of the industry and the technology that came with it, company  grew from their office in Thailand into today’s extensive network of 13 offices throughout Asia: Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam. It was not smooth sailing all the way through. We weathered through the turbulent seas of state coup d’etats, horrifying natural calamities and economic downtrends, but we managed to carry off a few laurels along the way.

In 2017, Diethelm Travel Holding and Tourasia Roemer – the largest tour operator in Switzerland specializing in travel to Asia – had merged their Asian destination management operations. Stefan Römer, CEO of Diethelm Travel and founder of Tourasia, has been invested in Diethelm Travel Holding AG for several years and is pleased that DK Travel Holding AG, has agreed to sell its last shares to him and his new partners. (Details and conditions of the deal will not be disclosed.)

“I am excited to assume full ownership of Diethelm Travel together with my new partners and would like to thank Diethelm Keller Travel Holding for the great partnership over the years as well as their trust in us to successfully lead the business into the future. I am confident that Diethelm Travel is well positioned to take advantage of the travel industry taking off again in 2022” said Stefan Römer.

Tourasia Roemer AG together with Arcothai International Ltd and the investor Gonpo Tsering will be joining forces to take over Diethelm Travel. Set forth to bring Diethelm Travel to the new era of travel empowered with advance IT system while staying true to the company’s DNA as “your trusted DMC in Asia.”
