7 Wonders of Borneo is a gateway to Business Events Opportunities

In Thailand, 7WOB afforded delegates a glimpse of the magical escapade showcasing the best of Sarawak in a spectacular 7-series feature.

BANGKOK – The 7 Wonders of Borneo (7WOB) campaign continued to demonstrate the connection between business events and natural values, at the Incentive Travel & Conventions, Meetings Asia (IT&CMA) & (CTW) Corporate Travel World 2016 held in the Bangkok Convention Centre, CentralWorld from the 27th-29th September 2016.

In Thailand, 7WOB afforded delegates a glimpse of the magical escapade showcasing the best of Sarawak in a spectacular 7-series feature, inclusive of the Orangutan, the state’s indigenous tribe, Mount Mulu, the Rajah Brooke butterfly, Sarawak’s colonial history, the Rafflesia, and the carnivorous Nepenthes.

“Sarawak promises not only the intoxicating charm of exotic pre and post tours, but is also demonstrates how a destination’s unique selling points generate organic business opportunities for its meetings industry. That is how the 7WOB was conceptualized,” said Amelia Roziman, General Manager of Marketing and Sales for SCB.

Two excellent examples are the International Marine Conservation Congress 2018, derived from Sarawak’s rich landscape in marine biology, and the 15th International Peat Congress 2016, which was won on the strength of Sarawak’s vast biodiversity and natural resources. Kuching, the Capital of Sarawak, is set to host the most authoritative meeting of the Business Events profession which will see a gathering of 1,000 delegates this coming 13th – 16th November 2016.

“Response from European ICCA members is high, so I would urge our neighbouring counterparts in the ASEAN cities to take advantage of the opportunity that European members are snapping up,” concludes Amelia, who also heads the Public Relations and Marketing Committee for the local host under the 55th ICCA Congress 2016.
