Singapore Tourism Board partners with Ola to offer passengers a chance to visit Singapore

STB and Ola co-create a unique in-trip experience for Ola passengers

Mumbai, India: The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) announced a partnership with one of the world’s largest ride-hailing companies, Ola.

As a part of this partnership, Ola will run a campaign from 1 to 15 December 2018 on its platforms across 19 cities[1] in West and Central India for its customers to win a trip to Singapore[2]. Ola users will have to take a minimum of three rides and enter the promocode “SINGAPORE” to participate in the contest. Three pairs of winners will be selected and will be notified through emails by 31 December 2018. In addition to the campaign, the STB’s brand of “Passion Made Possible” will be further entrenched through the showcasing of their branded content across Ola’s platforms.

With technology redefining mobility for the Indian consumers, STB aims to reach out to India’s digital natives on the Ola platform through this partnership. GB Srithar, Regional Director – South Asia, Middle East & Africa (SAMEA), STB said, “Ola is an integral part of the Indian consumers’ everyday lives. This partnership is one of our innovative marketing efforts to engage with the Indian consumers and entice them to visit Singapore and experience our diverse offerings. India’s millennials, for instance, consider the digital space an extension of their social circle; their friends and relationships. They are increasingly defined by shared hobbies and passions, rather than physical proximity or other formal connections. Our tie-up with Ola presents an exceptional opportunity for Singapore to showcase experiences targeted at these different “Passion Tribes”.

Shekhar Datta, Business Head at Ola said, “We take immense pride in building great ride experiences for our customers. We are pleased to engage with the Singapore Tourism Board, offering our customers a chance to appreciate and immerse themselves in the culture, cuisine and varied offerings that Singapore brings to global travellers.”

Singapore welcomed a record number of more than 1.27 million visitors from India in 2017, registering a 16% growth on visitor arrivals year-on-year to become the third largest visitor arrivals source market for Singapore. The STB is pleased to share that from January to September 2018, there were close to 1.1 million Indian visitors to Singapore, a 14.6% year-on-year growth.
