Continental Airlines announced a low introductory one-way fare for its new nonstop flight to Delhi, India from its New York
hub at Newark Liberty International Airport, scheduled to begin Nov. 1, 2005.
This new introductory fare is also available from several other cities including Washington, D.C., Cleveland and Boston.
The one-way fare to Delhi from Continental`s Houston hub at Bush Intercontinental Airport, Chicago and several additional cities is $549.
Tickets must be purchased by Sept. 12, 2005, for travel commencing Nov. 1 through Dec. 13, 2005. Travel must originate in the United States and
be completed by Dec. 25, 2005. Round-trip travel is required. Service from Washington, D.C., Cleveland and Boston may include flights operated by
ExpressJet Airlines, Inc. and marketed as Continental Express.
Continental will be the only U.S. carrier offering daily nonstop service from New York to Delhi. The service will reduce travel time between
the two cities by at least two and a half hours by eliminating any stop or connection en route.
The Boeing 777 flight will depart Liberty at 8:50 p.m. and arrive at Delhi`s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 9:15 p.m. the next day. The
return flight will depart Delhi at 11:45 p.m. arriving at Liberty at 5:05 a.m. the next day. Flying times will be approximately 13 hours and 55 minutes
traveling east from New York to Delhi and 15 hours and 50 minutes traveling west.
