Agreement good for regional tourism

The Australian tourism industry welcomes the increased connectivity between Australia and Asia due to the expanded codeshare agreement between Virgin Australia and Singapore Airlines.

AUSTRALIA- The Australian tourism industry welcomed the announcement of an expanded codeshare agreement between Virgin Australia and Singapore Airlines.

“The codeshare deal outlined by Virgin Australia will significantly increase the connectivity of Australia to Asia and the rest of the world,” ATEC Managing Director, Felicia Mariani said.

“It is great to see this agreement will open up more of our regional destinations, giving international travellers access to some of our more unique experiences.  We know from the most recent research into our international market that Australia’s biggest strength is our world class nature and we welcome any move that supports greater access to our regional destinations.

“With our natural environment at the core of our global tourism offering, it is crucial our airlines support the growing demand for access to Australia.

“ATEC congratulates Virgin Australia and Singapore Airlines on achieving the next stage of their partnership.”
