Youth travel specialist brings fun fitness-focused breaks to young travellers from May 2022, with up to 40% off.

New fitness resolutions may have kicked off in January, but TruTravels are helping young travellers to keep those fitness vibes going throughout 2022 with the launch of their new FitVentures. Capitalising on the health and wellness trends seen in 2021, the new fitness-focused breaks will depart from May 2022 and will bring the best of adventure and wellbeing to travellers aged 18 to 30+ year olds. With Muay Thai classes, beachfront bootcamps and volcano hikes on the agenda, TruTravels promises to challenge the conventional wellness retreat by making working out fun and sociable and offering experiences of a lifetime.

Running across Indonesia and Thailand, the new FitVentures tours also feature scenic island bike rides, sunset paddle boarding as well as spa days and healthy cooking classes, favouring an all-round wellness approach rather than strict workout and diet regimes.

Mark Pope, co-founder of TruTravels, says youth travel is often seen as party-focused and the new FitVentures will offer a more balanced experience to those who want to have fun while staying healthy and active.

In 2020, we saw a huge rise in home workouts and people getting active - a trend which has continued through 2021 as people keep up healthy new habits. With the misconception that youth travel is purely party holidays, we decided to harness these new trends and develop a collection of tours that bring together the best of adventure travel and all-round wellbeing, while still appealing to the younger traveller. Tapping into local fitness styles such as Muay Thai, and exploring in a more active way such as longer bike rides, travellers will get to experience a destination in a new way, with the added benefit of travelling around rather than staying in one place like you would on many traditional wellness retreats. Partnered with our Great Escape Sale, we’re offering customers up to 40% off our FitVentures, meaning travellers can bag a bargain and feel good working on themselves in 2022,’ Pope says.

All small group adventures offered by TruTravels are led by a TruNinja (tour guide) who also acts as a ‘social director’ making sure the group has a fun time travelling together as they hit the highlights of a destination.

The new tours include:

  • Thailand Energize - Celebrating the ancient art of Muay Thai, this nine-day adventure will get the blood pumping starting with morning Muay Thai classes, bike rides around Koh Phangan, beach HIIT classes in Koh Tao and hikes to epic viewpoints. Delicious food, temple visits, sunset paddleboarding and Thai massage will leave both the mind and body nourished and relaxed.
  • Bali Energize - Invigorate, energize and revitalize with this eight-day fitness adventure. Days are spent biking along tropical landscapes, hiking mountainous volcanoes to catch the sunrise, sweating it out in beach boot camps, practicing downward dogs and perfecting punches in boxing masterclasses. Balancing fitness with down-time and relaxing yoga, travellers will have plenty of time to explore Canggu and lap up the chilled vibes of Ubud.
