Inside Travel Group joins B Corp movement

The newly achieved designation underscores the company’s commitment to sustainable and responsible travel.

BROOMFIELD, CO – Inside Travel Group, the parent company of destination specialist brands InsideJapan Tours and InsideAsia Tours, announced this week its B Corp certification, joining the worldwide movement of businesses aiming to balance profits with purpose.

The B Corp certification comes after a rigorous process in which Inside Travel Group offered tangible insight into its socially and environmentally responsible practices across all company areas. Inside Travel Group crossed the 80-point pass mark threshold with a final score of 80.3.

“This is an incredible milestone for Inside Travel Group. After nearly two years of dedicated effort, it marks the beginning of our journey toward becoming a more responsible and sustainable business. We are committed to benefiting our suppliers, customers, partners, and staff, as well as the communities and environment we operate in,” said Simon King, Co-Founder of Inside Travel Group.

Global Sustainability Manager Rob Moran added, “With our international offices, staff, and partners across the globe, the certification process has been a complex one, but it is a testament to the company’s commitment to being a better business, which should also offer all our trade partners the reassurance that they are working with a great travel company.”

To date, there are just under 6,300 B Corp companies in 89 countries across 159 industries. Of that, only 31 certified travel companies are in the tour operator space.

Chris Turner, Executive Director of B Lab UK, said, “We are delighted to welcome Inside Travel Group to the B Corp community. This is a movement of companies who are committed to changing how the business operates and believe business really can be a force for good”.

Simon King continued, “As a long-haul tour operator, we acknowledge and embrace the climate impact of travel. We firmly believe that travel can be a positive force, and our B Corp certification sets us on a path of continuous improvement. Through this journey, we aim to create a positive impact on our destinations and everyone we collaborate with.”

The announcement comes as the company also received its CarbonNeutral certification. “This is all part of our mission to be a better travel company and to be the best at what we do, in every aspect,” added Moran.

InsideAsia has recently launched several new cultural adventures across South Korea, and InsideJapan recently announced that after Japan’s borders reopened, 2023 was set to be one of its busiest years ever.
