SHANGHAI - The China (Shanghai) International Boat Show, organized by UBM Sinoexpo, concluded successfully as part of Hotel Plus in Shanghai New International Expo Center and established itself as one of the world's most important and innovative trade shows for the boating lifestyle and water leisure industry. The event, now with a recognizably international outlook, broke new records in terms of exhibitor and visitor numbers, with 35,061 visits from over 70 countries, a 15.2% increase from 2017.

Review of CIBS 2018

As the premiere event for the marine leisure industry, the event attracted many different exhibitors and visitors. Whether it was to seek franchise opportunities, places orders, find or consolidate contacts with suppliers, collect market information or source new products, CIBS played host to brands and buyers from around the world.

Now in its 23rd year, the exhibitor list continues to grow exponentially, with global established players displaying over 300 boats and yachts (including fishing boats, power boats, and sailing boats), and boat equipment like motors, navigators and other hardware - the entire industry chain was covered.

The Industry-Leading Boat Show

There were over 20 new product launches at the show, and many big brands chose to unveil their latest products at CIBS, signifying the relevance of this boat show in attracting the right crowd year after year. It's a trend that looks to continue as the next show is being planned.

There was also an upward sales momentum during the event, with brands reporting deals and sales over the weekend. The interest in small and medium craft seems to be the main areas of growth.
