Experience Tasmania’s unique winter adventures through Tourism Tasmania’s Odd Jobs initiative, offering quirky volunteer opportunities to escape the routine and enjoy a memorable winter.
Tasmania is set to offer visitors unforgettable winter experiences as part of this year’s Off Season campaign. Tourism Tasmania has introduced a novel initiative, Odd Jobs, designed to encourage Australians to take a break from their routine jobs and indulge in a one-of-a-kind Tasmanian winter adventure.
Tourism Tasmania acting CEO, Vanessa Pinto, emphasized the appeal of Tasmanian winters for holiday goers looking to escape everyday stress. “These Odd Job volunteering experiences are fun, light-hearted opportunities that address the work-life balance and burnout issues many Australians face,” Pinto said. “The tongue-in-cheek initiative is exactly what Tasmania has become known for in campaigns, and it effectively sparks conversations about the importance of taking a break and highlights Tasmania’s Off Season as the perfect escape.”
In collaboration with 10 tourism operators across the state, Tourism Tasmania is offering Odd Jobs that explore some of the island’s most wild, weird, and wonderful workplaces. This initiative aims to drive visitors to the state and support local tourism and hospitality operators during the quieter winter months.
From June 17 to July 8, 2024, Australians can apply for one of the 10 Odd Jobs via the Discover Tasmania website. Successful applicants will have their travel expenses covered and will receive a selection of the finest Tasmanian produce or goods, hand-picked by their Odd Job host as a reward for their efforts.
These unique opportunities promise to provide an exceptional break from the ordinary, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the unique charm and beauty of Tasmania during winter.
