VNAT and NBCUniversal join hands to promote Vietnam tourism

In the first 6 months of 2022, Vietnam tourism has recovered robustly; welcoming 60.8 million domestic visitor arrivals, surpassing the goal of the whole year 2022.

On 22nd July, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) has a meeting with Ms. Emma Sirca – Vice President, NBCUniversal, APAC, Client and Agency Partnerships on media cooperation for restoring Vietnam tourism in the new normal context.

NBCUniversal attends in fields of culture, life; music, sports, and tourism; participated in several global events, international awards such as red carpet events, celebrity sponsorship and collaboration programmes.

At the meeting, Ms. Sharon Koh, Senior Account Director, NBCU, APAC, shared ideas and suggestions in promoting Vietnam tourism to the world. NBCUniversal can raise travel inspiration through promoting, introducing the beautiful scenes of Vietnam; partner up with influencers, famous Youtubers around the world; follow up closely with specific metrics to determine whether the method of reaching the audience is effective or not. Vietnam can uphold the media promotion in the fields of culinary, culture and traditional crafts.

Ms. Emma Sirca highly praised the recovery process of Vietnam tourism post Covid-19. With the current trend of international tourism recovery, it is extremely important to promote all the beauties of Vietnam, from the diversity of nature, culture, and experience activities to attract tourists.

VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh sent out appreciation to NBCUniversal for proposing media cooperation opportunities for Vietnam during the period of tourism recovery post the Covid-19 pandemic. Simultaneously, he feels thankful for the supportive media from NBCUniversal in tourism events of Vietnam in the past few years.

In the first 6 months of 2022, Vietnam tourism has recovered robustly; welcoming 60.8 million domestic visitor arrivals, surpassing the goal of the whole year 2022; at the same time, welcoming 600,000 international arrivals. Particularly, according to Google Destination Insight statistics, the number of international search volumes about Vietnam tourism is in the top growth rate in the world, reaching 1000% in June compared to the same period last year, stated VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh.

The decision to reopen Vietnam tourism under new normal conditions is one of the most important and right decisions, affirmed VNAT’s Chairman. Vietnam is one of the 4 ASEAN countries and among 52 countries in the world to fully reopen  tourism. The travel policy for Vietnam tourism is the most open in the ASEAN region and in Asia.

Discussing at the meeting, leaders of Tourism Marketing Department and International Cooperation Department (VNAT) highly appreciated the professionalism of NBCUniversal. Also, showing their goodwill in working with NBCUniversal on a specific and detailed plan to introduce Vietnam in the media. At the same time, suggested NBCUniversal to cooperate in working with localities and major tourism enterprises in Vietnam to improve efficiency in widely promoting Vietnamese tourism to international friends.

Regarding the media cooperation, VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh said, VNAT hopes to receive great support from NBCUniversal in upholding media promotion for Vietnam tourism in the near future.
