Tourism Australia partners with the University of Melbourne

The General Manager of People & Culture for Tourism Australia says the partnership between Tourism Australia and University of Melbourne highlights the importance Tourism Australia places on developing talent.

A program offered to Bachelor of Commerce students at the University of Melbourne has selected four students to spend two weeks at Tourism Australia in Seoul.

Global Management Consulting is a third-year program that gives students the opportunity to gain industry experience in an international setting.

The students—Roy Mao, Jiani Chen, Olivia Plymin and Jun You—will develop practical business competencies while working on genuine business challenges.

The General Manager of People & Culture for Tourism Australia, Steven Murphy, says the partnership highlights the importance Tourism Australia places on developing talent. “We believe in giving students and graduates who are passionate about tourism and Australia, the opportunity to gain valuable insights into the tourism and marketing sector.”

Tourism Australia is one of five companies participating in the program, along with ANZ, IBM and Bayer.

In addition to the partnership with the University of Melbourne, Tourism Australia offers the Maggie White Students and Graduates Program, which provides a range of internship, cadetship and graduate opportunities.
