The Tourism Authority of Thailand has launched the TAT Connex platform, a digital tool connecting influencers with tourism businesses to boost travel, enhance brand visibility, and drive higher spending.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has officially launched its new influencer marketing platform, ‘TAT Connex’, as part of its innovative approach to digital transformation for tourism promotion and development.
TAT Governor, Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, said “TAT has created TAT Connex as a courtesy for Thai tourism businesses to increase brand visibility, while inspiring more travel and stimulating higher tourism spending at destinations across the country. This project underscores our strategy to apply full digital transformation to take the Thai tourism industry to greater heights.”
The TAT Connex platform, via its application (Android and iOS) and website, was activated earlier this month, enabling advance registration for businesses and influencers.
The platform welcomes all categories of local and international Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), influencers, bloggers, media and celebrities to connect with 10 types of tourism-related businesses; these being: restaurants and diners, hotel accommodation and homestays, transportation, recreational activities and tourist attractions, travel agencies, health and beauty, department stores and shopping centres, activity/meeting and theatre/entertainment, and souvenir and other shops.
Users will be empowered to establish business partnerships and take advantage of TAT Connex for real-time campaign tracking and data analysis via social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X (Twitter). For instance, a business may want to work together with influencers in certain markets to increase brand exposure and connect with potential customers.
As part of the official launch, a knowledge-sharing panel discussion was held on the topic “The Power of Influencer Marketing toward Tourism Industry” with insights from Dr. Penpisut Jintasophon, Secretary to the Minister of Tourism and Sports; Ms. Variya Lulitanond, Director of Marketing for Thailand, Cambodia, and Myanmar at Marriott International; and Ms. Chermawee Suwanpanuchoke, an actress and travel enthusiast influencer.
The launch event also featured a practical workshop on how to use the TAT Connex platform, catering to both influencers and business operators in attendance.
“TAT is committed to boosting tourism in tandem with the government’s ‘Ignite Thailand’s Tourism’ vision. The TAT Connex platform will undoubtedly become an effective tool for Thai tourism businesses and will help stimulate more travel to destinations across Thailand,” Ms. Thapanee concluded.
