Singapore Tourism Board celebrates milestone achievement of 1 million tourism arrivals with a 4-city roadshow in India

Welcomes the largest 39-member delegation from Singapore to thank travel industry in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Chennai.

MUMBAI – Close on the heels of the recent announcement of Singapore welcoming 1 million visitors from India in 2015, Singapore Tourism Board (STB) kicked off its 4-city roadshow to engage key trade partners in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai from 27 January – 3 February 2016, bringing in a 39-member delegation comprising of key industry partners & attractions from Singapore.  
 
Trade engagement in key markets has always been an integral part of Singapore Tourism Board’s strategy for the Indian market. Mr. Chee Pey Chang, Executive Director, South Asia, Middle East & Africa – Singapore Tourism Board said, “India continues to remain in the top 5 markets in terms of visitor arrivals and this year, we welcomed the largest delegation of hotels, attractions, cruises and DMCs. We are excited to see the enormous participation from our trade and travel partners and we are grateful to them for making this roadshow an outstanding success. We continue to encourage first time visitors to Singapore, and also increase the re-visits from Indian tourists by promoting our new offerings and events. We are also targeting the (Free Individual Traveller) FITs with unique and exclusive offerings. We want to give our Indian friends a million more reasons to visit Singapore and the role of the travel trade will be an important one to keep this momentum going.
 
After Mumbai, the delegation will travel to the national capital of Delhi where they will also participate in SATTE 2016, followed by Bangalore trade networking session and then concluding the India leg of the circuit in Chennai on 3 February 2016.
