Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Deputy Governor for Domestic Marketing, said, “Thailand is a travel landmark of Asia and has everything that travellers look for. We have beautiful destinations, delicious food and shopping venues. Before COVID-19, we had about 40 million international tourists a year, and after the big surge has passed, as travel measures have been relaxed for incoming passengers, we expect to see around 10 million tourists this year, and many more in the following years. It is a good opportunity for Central Department Store, Central Shopping Centers, and Centara hotels, in partnership with the private sector, to boost tourism and create a memorable experience to boost the Thai economy. The Tourism Authority of Thailand is delighted to support Central Department Store’s activities in welcoming tourists back to Thailand.”

Tippamas Kaysee, Head of Marketing – Customer Segment, Wealthy and Strategic Partnerships, Central Department Store under Central Retail, said, “After we have transitioned out of the big surge in Thailand and in the rest of the world, people are more confident to travel, and the government has relaxed travel measures since July, making tourists want to come and travel in Thailand more. In addition to our beautiful nature and cultural places, Thailand is a shopping paradise and a haven for relaxation. Central Department Stores are shopping destinations that foreign travellers trust, so we have worked with the TAT and leading airlines such as Thai Airways, India’s Go First and Myanmar’s Myanmar Airways (MAI) to introduce ‘Tourist Welcome Package’ to offer special privileges to tourists, such as up to 3,000 Baht discount when spending 30,000 Baht at any of the 24 Central Department Stores in Thailand. The strength of Central Department Store is our presence in Bangkok and major cities such as Phuket, Chiang Mai, Samui, and Pattaya. Beyond those privileges, we also offer special services to facilitate and entertain our shoppers, such as our Personal Shoppers who can speak multiple languages to offer shopping advice and details about promotions, tax return services for foreigners, and free delivery to their hotels. This will boost tourism in Thailand and help the Thai economy recover.”

Donlachanai Sutharomna, Head of International Shopper Central Pattana said, “Fifteen Central Shopping Centers nationwide have partnered with our tenants, such as fashion stores, restaurants, and Tops Supermarket, as well as Central Department Store and other stores, to offer discounts and special privileges to tourists. Major partners of this project are over 1,000 hotels in Thailand, domestic and international airlines, tourism platforms, tourism offices in Thailand and overseas, and other partners. Over the months, many shopping centres are gradually bouncing back such as Central World, Central Village, and Central Phuket, which has enjoyed the benefits of Phuket Sandbox since late 2021.”

Pinida Pettanagul, Corporate Director of Marketing & Creative Services of Centara Hotels and Resorts, said, “As tourism now shows signs of recovery and people are travelling more, we are delighted to join the ‘Tourist Welcome Package’ guide to welcome tourists back to Centara, a place of happiness for everyone. We have six different brands for our resorts and hotels, from luxury resorts on private islands to affordable lifestyle destinations. The Welcome Tourist Package offers special privileges to Centara guests, so they get better value. We believe that we will be able to give them a memorable experience and we are ready to help drive tourism in Thailand as it regains its momentum.”

Phiromtis Thongthaem Na Ayutthaya, Team Lead – Product Marketing Thai Airways International Public Company Limited, said, “Thai Airways is the national carrier of Thailand which has been in the tourism industry for over 60 years. During COVID-19, we were heavily impacted, but now we are ready to resume our full services to delight our passengers. We will grow strongly under our rehabilitation plan. There are external positive factors, such as the reopening of Thailand which invites both Thais and foreigners to travel, and Thai Airways adjusting our routes to meet the diverse needs of our passengers through route planning, fleet management and service improvement to ensure that our passengers always feel safe and comfortable when travelling with us. In this partnership, we are delighted to support the growth of Thailand’s tourism and economy once again. This partnership initially focuses on attracting travellers from India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh before expanding to other countries covered by our routes.”

Paul Wu, Senior General Manager & Regional Head South East Asia of Go First, said, “As first movers into Thailand in general, Phuket in particular, and also taking cue from our spirit of You Come First, Go First is delighted to collaborate with Central Department Store Thailand, in offering its customers on all its flights from India  to Bangkok and Phuket, a memorable experience of Signature Indian Hospitality and an Amazing Thailand shopping experience at any of Central Department Stores in Thailand.”

Tanes Kumar, Chief Commercial Officer of Myanmar Airways International, “We are delighted to partner with Central Retail, one of the largest retail chains in Thailand, to further strengthen our objective of adding value to our guests and partners. This partnership allows us to expand our partnership footprint regionally to serve our guests flying with us and visiting Thailand. In addition, as the most significant carrier serving between Myanmar & Thailand currently with 4-5 daily flights on Yangon-Bangkok & Mandalay-Bangkok sectors, we believe this partnership would bring much value to Central Retail, driving traffic to their department stores across the country.”
