2018 Beijing International Youth Tourism Festival curtains down

2018 Beijing International Youth Tourism Festival Closing Ceremony.

The Festival was promoted through new media platforms including Weibo, Wechat, live video streaming and etc., which created interactive opportunities with numerous online participants.

BEIJING – Organized by Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development (BMCTD), 2018 Beijing International Youth Tourism Festival closed with great success at Laoshe Teahouse on October 26, after its three-month events. Government officers including Wang Yue, the deputy director of BMCTD, Lin Xiaomu, vice inspector of Beijing Xicheng District Tourism Development Committee joined the closing ceremony with international touring lovers, young tourists and medias, celebrating the successful tourism festival. International young tourists were impressed by the beauty, profound history and ever-new changings of the Central Axis.

Kicked off on July 10, the Festival has attracted nearly one hundred international students and tourist, as well as touring lovers from more than 30 countries and regions including the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Russia and etc. Themed as “Travelling along the Central Axis of Beijing, feeling the history”, participants enjoyed five different component activities through visiting sights and attractions along the Central Axis, historical architectures and gardens, Hutongs in Beijing, former celebrities residents, time-honored shops and new city views to experience Beijing imperial history and artistic culture.

Participants reviewed all the video highlights of the Festival on the closing ceremony. According to Antonio, an international student from Mexico, the Festival deepens his understanding and passion for Beijing. He will cherish each good memory such as rambling in Houhai, enjoying rites and music in Temple of Heaven, tea tasting at Laoshe Teahouse, and flash performance at Beijing Fun. He would like to bring traditional Chinese culture along the old Central Axis to his family and more friends. Another international student Mary also showed her passion for Chinese traditional folk art through cross talk performance. 

Jesse Appell, an international touring lover released the Top 10 Traveling Routes along the Central Axis for Young Tourist. With interviews online and offline, study and experience during the Festival, the Book concludes 10 most popular touring routes to comprehensively reveal the history, art, culture, fashion and development along the Central Axis areas.

A video to showcase how hundreds of international young students and tourists supporting the Central Axis applying for UNESCO World Cultural Heritage played as a highlight during the closing ceremony. The video will be given to the department for the cultural heritage application as a supportive material for the application.

The Festival was promoted through new media platforms including Weibo, Wechat, live video streaming and etc., which created interactive opportunities with numerous online participants. Touring lovers such as Steven Weathers, Meng Tian and Camilla Cristi attracted 1.4 million readers by posting their travel shots and videos. 613,000 participants from new media channels and 5.063 million media platforms published the Festival, which exerted significant effect for promoting the culture of Central Axis and empowered the World Cultural Heritage application.
