Brian Tong, newly appointed Area General Manager for Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts, China and Mongolia

In his new role, Brian Tong will oversee operating Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts in Greater China.

SHANGHAI, CHINA – Hilton Hotels and Resorts recently appointed Brian Tong as Area General Manager for Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts for Greater China and Mongolia, one of Hilton’s iconic luxury hotel brands.

In his new role, Mr. Tong, will oversee operating Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts in Greater China. “I’m truly excited with the opportunity to lead Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts team in Greater China and we are commited to bring the brand’s world-class hotel offerings to life and providing comfort with unsurpassed amenities combined with elegant services. Mr. Brian Tong has more than 20 years of experience in hotel operations and management globally. With extensive experience in hotel opening, leadership skills and financial management, Mr. Brian Tong was engaged in senior management roles in several hotels international luxury brands in the Asia Pacific region. He is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Mr. Tong studied hotel operation and management in New York, US. He brings along his wealth of experience in luxury hospitality management from New York, Hong Kong, Taipei, Xiamen, Macau and Beijing. He is also holding the General Manager role for Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund.

Founded in 1893, Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts is an established luxury brand with more than century worth of history. Since its debut in Asia market in 2011, in Shanghai, the brand has showcased its uniqueness and has charmed the Chinese market.Today, there are four properties operating in Shanghai, Beijing, Xiamen and Chengdu. When the other two properties in the country’s pipeline open – Shanghai’s Qiantan and Xi’an in 2025, guests will be able to experience the sincerely elegant services in timeless environment in six properties.
