Asia-Pacific is expected to witness the highest growth rate of 8.6 percent through to 2023. Expanding demand particularly in Singapore, China, and India, alongside market drivers such as ease of visa restrictions, investments in better infrastructure, and high demand in commercial aviation are fuelling the upward trend.

Singapore – Messe Berlin Singapore has announced that it will be organising the inaugural MICE Show Asia 2019 in Singapore, from 16 - 18 October, at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre at Marina Bay Sands. The event will be co-located with ITB Asia 2019.

Katrina Leung, Managing Director of Messe Berlin Singapore, said the MICE sector in Asia-Pacific continues to thrive, with the region expected to witness the highest growth rate in the next 5 years.

“After successfully organising ITB Asia for 12 years, we noticed the fast-growing demand for the MICE and corporate travel segments. MICE Show Asia 2019 seeks to capture this growing demand and I am confident participants will gain the highest value at this show,” Leung said.

According to a forecast published by Allied Market Research on the global MICE market, Asia-Pacific is expected to witness the highest growth rate of 8.6 percent through to 2023. Expanding demand particularly in Singapore, China, and India, alongside market drivers such as ease of visa restrictions, investments in better infrastructure, and high demand in commercial aviation are fuelling the upward trend.

MICE Show Asia 2019 is expected to attract a diverse group of participants, including 47 percent from MICE agencies, 26 percent from corporates such as meetings & incentive planners, and 15 percent from professional conference or exhibition organisers. In addition, the organiser expects 9 percent of attendees to be from association buyers, and 3 percent being independent planners. Over 60% of MICE buyers are from Asia-pacific (APAC) countries.

MICE Show Asia 2019 will have a line-up of speakers from top-tier brands including American Express Meetings & Events, EventXtra, succevo, K.I.T. Group GmbH and Cvent. Expert speakers will share market insights, brand-new ideas, and inspirational case studies that are leading the industry’s conversations.

Some of the topics that will be discussed at the event include 2020 forecasts for the global meeting and events industries, the digital transformation of the meeting and events industries, and the innovative use of technology to captivate event-attendees.
